State Supreme Court affirms murder conviction

Frankie Bishop Burns was convicted in May 2002 of murder and aggravated assault in the death of James Gregory Patrick in Commerce in what authorities say was a drug-related murder.

Burns was challenging several rulings by the trial court, but the high court said it could find "no reversable error" and affirmed the conviction and sentence.

Burns is serving life without parole.
