Another fully-staffed Forsyth fire station opens

CUMMING - Forsyth County continues the process of replacing its volunteer fire stations with fully-staffed, paid firefighters.

Station #5 is now operational and is located on Holtzclaw Road. Its service district includes the Chattahoochee Road, Holtzclaw Road and Pilgrim Mill Road peninsula areas of the county.

The former Fire Station #5 was an all volunteer station; the new station will have 24-hour coverage by full-time firefighters.

Forsyth County has 15 fire stations.
