Hall County school wins writing award

GAINESVILLE - West Hall Middle School has received the Writing School of Excellence Award for the third consecutive year.

The award was presented during the recent Georgia Association of Curriculum, Instruction, and Supervision Conference.

The award is given for schools that encourage writing across the curriculum and for those schools that show progress on the Middle Grades Writing Assessment.

More than 94% of all 8th graders at West Hall met or exceeded the proficiency score for the writing test last year.
