CLEVELAND - The White County Planning Commission is divided over a recommendation that new subdivisions have access to a paved road.
According to the Norton Native Intelligence Market Watch, the suggestion comes from a planning commission subcommittee.
Members of that committee who favor of the recommendation cites public safety concerns and say it will save taxpayers money.
But, commission chairman Charlie Thomas says developers would be put at a big disadvantage because there are thousands of acres in the county located off unpaved roads.
