GAINESVILLE - The lights went dark right at breakfast time for hundreds of folks on the southside of Gainesville Friday morning.
The power outage was caused by a car that hit a pole on Bradford Street near Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard about 6:00.
Gary Funk, Distribution Engineer for Georgia Power, said about 1,000 customers were in the dark for just over an hour.
For about 20 others, it was another couple of hours or so before power was restored.
