GAINESVILLE - Boaters on Lake Lanier can have their vessels check out for free at seven marinas on the lake Saturday.
It's part of the observance of National Marina Day and the safety inspections will be conducted from 10:00-2:00.
They will take place at the courtesy docks at
Aqualand, Holiday, Habersham, Lanier Harbor, Lazy Days, Starboard and Sunrise Cove marinas.
In addition, Aqualand Marina will honor members of the 802nd Ordnance Company and their families. The Gainesville-based Army reservists who returned earlier this year from deployment to the Middle East.
The festivities will include a picnic, entertainment, and a parade.
