Gainesville DOT office places second in annual 'roadeo'

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville-based Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) office recently took second place, overall, in this year's State Equipment Roadeo.

The "roadeo" is an annual competition between GDOT employees. The competition tests the skills of equipment operators on a variety of large equipment.

Paul Jackson is a White County Resident and placed 3rd in the Six Wheel Dump Truck Division. Paul is a Maintenance Equipment Operator for the Area Four Maintenance Crew that serves Lumpkin, Towns, Union and White Counties. Paul has been with DOT for 20 years. Last year Paul won 2nd place in the State Roadeo in the Tandem Axle Dump Truck Division.

Ricky Brown is a White County Resident and placed 2nd in the Motor Grader Division. Ricky is the Highway Maintenance Foremen for the White County Routine Maintenance Crew. Ricky has been with DOT for 25 years.
