HELEN - The White County man who was serving as chairman of the 9th District Democratic Party has died.<br>

Michael James McCay died Sunday following an extended illness.<br>
<br>
McCay, 39, who lived in Helen, had also held numerous positions and offices in the State Democratic Party. In addition, he was a staff member for former Congressman Ed Jenkins and Governor Joe Frank Harris when they were in office. <br>
<br>
The funeral will be at 2:00 Tuesday at Chattahoochee Methodist Church in Helen. <br>
