ATLANTA - Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox - who recently said Hall County will pilot bilingual voting in the November elections - will be honored Wednesday by the Latin American Association.

Cox will receive the Atlanta-based group's Outstanding Public Service and Leadership Award for "her commitment to fairness and accuracy in the voting process (as) evidenced by her support for making the voting process more inclusive."

The award will be presented at the association's annual Latino Summit in Atlanta.

Also during the meeting, Greg Bautista, director of El Puente Community Action in Gainesville, will facilitate a panel entitled "Addressing Latino Family and Health Issues." El Puente is a part of the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention.

Other topics to be covered in separate sessions during the one-day meeting include An Examination of Immigration Policy, Catering to the Latino Market, Understanding Our Differences, and Youth: Solutions That Work.
