Forsyth fire victims want answers

By by Ken Stanford
CUMMING - Dozens of Forsyth County homeowners met Thurday night to find out why two hydrants were dry when firefighters tried to save their homes from a Sunday brush fire which destroyed five houses in one subdivision.

Janet Walker wanted to know if the government could be help offset her loss.

A fire department spokesman told the group firemen did not know there were problems with two dry hydrants, but said some hydrant inspection procedures are now being changed.

One homeowner told Channel 2 Action News that she would not have lost her home if all the hydrants had been working.
