GAINESVILLE - Plans for two condominium skyscrapers to be located on the shores of Lake Lanier in north Gainesville have been passed along to the Georgia Mountains Regional Development Center(GMRDC).
GMRDC reviews large projects for a 13-county northeast Georgia area, and has a month to review plans for the two towers - one 36 stories and the other a 34-story structure.
It also will be taking comment from state agencies and local governments in the Gainesville area before making a recommendation.
The site chosen for the development is on Thompson Bridge Road next to the Rubicon office building on the southside of Thompson Bridge near Lake Lanier.
The developers have said they hope to break ground May 18.
