One Hall school principal's contract not up for renewal

GAINESVILLE - A Hall County elementary principal drew support for keeping his job at Monday night's school board work session.

Jerry Lee, principal of Wauka Mountain Elementary School, is not on a list of principals up for contract renewal.

Schools superintendent Dr. Dennis Fordham said Lee will remain at Wauka Mountion for the rest of the school year. The board plans to vote on Dr. Fordham's recommendations next Monday.

Lee had supporters at the work session and Fordham told them he was looking at the total situation but did not say why Lee was not on the list, citing confidentiality.

Two other principals in the Hall County School System, Susan Bagwell of Chestnut Mountain elementary and Jerry Smith of Spout Springs elementary, aren't returning next year because they are retiring.
