Lakeview captures top two spots in art contest

GAINESVILLE - Lakeview Academy students placed first and second in Congressman Nathan Deal's High School Student Art Competition this year, and their works are show here.

Lakeview had never placed above fourth in the annual competition and the winners artwork was exhibited n Washington, D.C.

First-place winner was Robert Scully (pencil rendering). Second place went to Dominique Hellgeth (tempra).

Scully and Hellgeth were awarded cash prizes at a reception, which was held Wednesday at the Roy C. Moore Art Gallery at Gainesville College.
