Flowery Branch mayor resigns

FLOWERY BRANCH - The mayor of Flowery Branch announced his resignation Wednesday.

Gene Reed would only say he was stepping down because of "health" reasons and that his resignation was effective at 8:00 Wednesday morning.

Reed has been mayor of Flowery Branch for just over three years.

Reed's is the second resignation of a Flowery Branch City Official in a week's time. Last week, City Clerk Diane Hirling stepped down.
