Bids okayed for bridge work in three NE Georgia counties

GAINESVILLE - A Tucker company has been awarded contracts totaling five million dollars for bridge construction work on Georgia Highway 115 in Habersham and White counties and on Jefferson Road in Jackson County.

District Engineer Todd Long of the Gainesville state Department of Transportation Office says the Habersham-White project, which was awarded to Sunbelt Structures , Inc. of Tucker , Ga., includes 0. 87 1 miles of approach construction on beginning just east of SR 254 and extending to just east of the Chattahoochee River .

The projected completion date is December 31, 2004. The estimated cost is $ 2.6 million.

The work in Jackson County, which was also awarded to Sunbelt Structures, includes 0.89 miles of bridge and approach construction over Curry Creek on Jefferson Road .

The projected completion date for that project is October 31, 2004. The estimated cost is $ 2.4 million.
