Brenau helps kicks off college graduation in Georgia

ATLANTA - May is graduation month in Georgia, and the 2003 season begins this weekend with commencement exercises at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Brenau University, and a few other colleges around the state.

More than 35,000 students - 2,642 of them in northeast Georgia - will graduate this year from more than 75 colleges and universities in Georgia. The majority of graduations are scheduled for later this month.

Friday night, Brenau University in Gainesville holds graduation for its evening and weekend undergraduates.

Saturday, Brenau will hold ceremonies for it's evening and weekend graduate students, and, its university students.

Graduation will also be held Saturday at Young Harris College.

Gainesville College ceremonies will be held Wednesday.

Saturday, May 10, is the big day in northeast Georgia. That's when Truett-McConnell, Piedmont, North Georgia, and Toccoa Falls are all scheduled to hold graduation.
