A resurgence of new home building

GAINESVILLE - February brought with it a resurgence of home building in Gainesville and Hall County.

According to Gainesville-Hall County Building Inspection Services, the number of permits for new, single-family housing in the county jumped to 107 from 76 in January.

In Gainesville, twelve were issued, compared to two a month earlier.

Also in the city, permits were okayed for the construction of new apartments and other multi-family housing with a net value of more than seven million dollars.
