Coming off the heels of one of the best seasons (2022-23) in area history, it would have been a lot to ask for a repeat performance for the 2023-24 campaign. But northeast Georgia area girls teams delivered once again.

The 2023-24 boys basketball campaign wasn’t exactly one to write home about across the area.

It’s almost THAT TIME OF YEAR again. With softball and volleyball already complete, and football heading toward the playoffs, attention will soon turn to basketball as the fall season gives way to winter.

The Region 6-3A All-Region softball team was released on Thursday.

What a difference a year makes.

Buford finished the season on a high note, playing its most complete game and knocking off rival Mill Creek to win the Region 8-6A championship.

With the regular season over for teams covered by AccessWDUN and Friday Game Night, the sports team at AccessWDUN each gave their impressions of the regular season, which was one of the more interesting and unpredictable in recent memory.

The regular season is over, which means only one thing: we (almost) made it to the playoffs!

Both Buford and Cherokee Bluff come up short on Saturday in the quests for state titles in girls softball action at the Olympic Softball Complex.
