The Fairhope, Ala. native used a pass on the first green-white-checkered lap to get by Kyle Weatherman Monday afternoon at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds in DuQuoin, Ill., to earn his fifth win of 2015 and keep him in the driver’s seat to be the 2015 series champion.

George Brunnhoelzl III has led more laps at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va. than anybody on the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour. But that hasn’t always translated into victories.

Johnny Bridges raced to his second USCS Sprint Car Series win of 2015 during “Fast and Furious Friday” at Lavonia Speedway. It was also his first-career trip to victory lane at the Lavonia, Ga. three-eighths mile red clay oval, as he held off defending series champion Terry Gray in the process.
