Already a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion, Kurt Busch added NASCAR's next piece of prestigious hardware to his trophy case when he won the Daytona 500 two weeks ago.

Speedway Motorsports President and CEO Marcus Smith announced Wednesday that Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host a second Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race in the fall beginning in 2018.

Chase Elliott spent much of Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 running in Kevin Harvick’s shadow. Elliott had a fast Chevrolet, as he proved conclusively after incurring a pit road speeding penalty on lap 212.

Tony Stewart needed to retire to win the Daytona 500. From runner-up through DNFs, he failed to win NASCAR's marquee race. Stewart's NASCAR career ended without a win in 17 tries in the Daytona 500.
