The 2023 high school football campaign is just days away, and there are more than a few storylines to follow for the 26 Northeast Georgia-area programs we follow at AccessWDUN.

The high school football scrimmage season is now in the books, and several Northeast Georgia teams mostly likely have a notebook full of specifics to work on as they head toward next week's season openers.

In case you were wondering, Northeast Georgia is full of football talent.

Last season, we correctly picked six region champions -- Buford, Gainesville, Jefferson, North Oconee, Dawson County and Rabun County -- and we also nailed 28 of the 32 playoff teams in our eight Northeast Georgia regions. Not bad if we do say so ourselves.

Gainesville traveled to Milton on Thursday for its final tune-up before the regular season kicks off next week.
