White County has several key guys back on both sides of the ball coming into the 2024 campaign. But they will have to replace Ryan Fowler’s 1,500 yards rushing from a year ago and rework a young secondary on defense.

West Hall had a rough 2023 with injuries but returns an experienced group that looks ready to turn the corner in 2024.

Union County will undergo several changes in 2024, including moving to a new region in the northwest portion of the state. But the biggest change will be at quarterback.

Towns County was decimated by injuries in 2023, derailing what they thought was a team that could challenge for just the program’s second-ever playoff appearance. However, a slew of underclassmen gained valuable playing time as a result and the participation numbers have never been higher.

The Eagles suffered through a rough 2023 and now will be under new management with long-time coach Jeff Lee taking over the program.

Rabun County had a young team in 2023 and saw its streak of nine straight region titles end. But most of that group which advanced to the quarterfinals is back, as is the area’s top quarterback in Ty Truelove.

North Hall made the playoffs in 2023 and showed vast improvement across the board in Sean Pender’s second season. But the Trojans come into the 2024 campaign having to replace several key pieces from that group on both sides of the ball.

North Forsyth is coming off a second straight playoff run and will bring an experienced team into the 2024 campaign, including the majority of a defense that was ballhawkish last year, and an offense that got better as the season went along.

Lumpkin County lost several key cogs to graduation along the offensive line, as well as running back Mason Sullens. But they do return dynamic quarterback Cal Faulkner and plenty of playmakers on offense.

It’s definitely one of the fastest growing sports, not just in the United States, but around the world. In fact, flag football has become so popular over the past half-dozen years that there is even an exhibit now at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
