Lanierland Tournament

The 64th Lanierland Tournament opening round is in the books.

Gainesville, Cherokee Bluff, Flowery Branch, and North Hall all took wins on Wednesday in the first round of the 64th annual Lanierland tournament at the West Hall gym.

Gainesville joined North Hall, Chestatee and Lakeview Academy into the semifinals with a 66-21 win over Johnson on Wednesday the nightcap for the first round of the 64th annual Lanierland tournament.

The 64th Lanierland Basketball Tournament will tip off at 9 a.m. today at West Hall High School.

In the spirit of the holidays, the AccessWDUN sports staff decided to try picking the 64th Lanierland Tournament bracket.

The Johnson girls and East Hall boys both moved into the main bracket of the Lanierland tournament with wins on Saturday in the play-in games.

The Gainesville boys and girls knocked off North Hall to win the 63rd Lanierland Tournament at Chestatee on Friday.

Gainesville's Keidra Young and Charlie Reisman were named the 63rd Lanierland Tournament CW Davis Most Valuable Players.

They say elephants never forget. The Gainesville boys played the 2022 Lanierland finals against rival North Hall like they definitely remembered a gut-wrenching loss to East Hall in the 2021 championship game...

The plan for Gainesville was to limit Kristina Peach and the North Hall 3-point bombers from getting unleashed in the 63rd Lanierland Tournament final...
