Gainesville High football coach Steve Wilson confirmed Wednesday morning that he has been contacted by Furman University to become that school's defensive coordinator.

The Georgia State Patrol reports 14 people died on state roads over the New Year's period, four fewer than had predicted. Of the 14 who died, three were in this area.
