STATE TRACK MEET: Jefferson's Smith, Isaacs, Moore win titles; Union's Sanchez takes 3200-meter championship

JoJo Smith, Ellie Isaacs and Anna Moore are state champions.

The trio won the Class 3A individual titles Thursday at the state track and field meet at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany. 

Smith grabbed the high jump title. Anna Moore took home the pole vault championship, while her teammate, Claire Kulniszewski placed second. 

Ellie Isaacs bested the field in the shot put. 

North Hall's Gracie McBride finishes second in the triple jump. 

Meanwhile, at Valhalla Stadium at Berry College, Union County's Zoe Sanchez won the 3200-meter run. Bank County's Giffin Stephens ran to a second-place finish in the 3200-meter run on the boys' side and Union's Luke Gambrell placed third. 

After Thursday's six events, the Jefferson girls remain at the top of the team standings, 15 points ahead of Greater Atlanta Christian. 

After two events, Union County girls are in third place.

Track meets in each classification will continue Friday and Saturday, weather permitting.
