McDONOUGH, Ga. — For the second consecutive season the Lanier Christian girls advanced to the GAPPS 2A Final Four.
The Lady Lightning knocked off No. 2 seed Creekside Christian 55-50 behind a tenacious rebounding effort and a zone defense. LCA dominated boards, pulling down 41 rebounds for the game.
They nearly had three players record double-doubles, led by sophomore Adelyn Gough, who had 15 points and 9 rebounds. Sophomore Meav Fouts had 9 points and 9 rebounds, 8th-grader Julianne Roberts posted 9 points and 8 rebounds, and sophomore Elliana Clark had 8 points.
Senior Emma Flowers had 7 points and 6 rebounds and senior Ellie Roberts added in 6 points and 6 rebounds for Lady Lightning.
LCA (14-14) will play Horizon Christian at Gordon State College on Thursday at 4 p.m. Its will be the fourth meeting this season between the two teams.
