By AccessWDUN Staff

The Hall County Government held a special meeting Thursday with municipalities to review and sign the 2024 Transportation Special Purpose local option sales tax Intergovernmental Agreement.

The Hall County Board of Commissioners on July 11 will vote on a resolution to move a Single-County Transportation SPLOST forward for a referendum for vote on Nov. 5th.

The cities of Buford, Flowery Branch, Gainesville, Lula, Oakwood and Rest Haven were in attendance to sign the document.

The document signifies the agreement for how funds will be allotted and approves transformational transportation projects in Hall County to be completed as part of the Transportation SPLOST.

“I have been on the board for 12 years, and this is only our second unanimous pulled together body,” District 4 Commissioner Jeff Stowe. “I think the last time we did it was in ‘18 or ‘19 for service delivery. So it's great we can all come together on such an important issue and move our county ahead. I want to thank every city that's represented here and the fine work they are doing. I appreciate your support.”

Other municipalities in attendance included the towns of Braselton and Clermont.
