A driver has been pronounced dead following a Thursday afternoon wreck according to the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver was pronounced dead at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham after a wreck on Ga. 15 near Hollywood Hills Road.
Habersham County officials were dispatched to the single-vehicle wreck just after 4 p.m. after the vehicle left the road, traveled down an embankment, and struck a tree.
One lane of Ga. 15 southbound was shut down until just after 5:20 p.m.
The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) is investigating the wreck as well as the cause of death for the driver.
