Stephens County man charged with child sexual exploitation

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has charged a Stephens County man with one count of sexual exploitation of children.

The GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit began an investigation into 32-year-old Alan Savage’s online activity after receiving cyber tip reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The investigation led to a search of Savage’s electronic devices and his arrest on Wednesday, Dec. 7, the GBI reported Saturday.

Savage is being criminally charged in Oconee County, Ga., where it was determined his crime was committed.

The GBI CEACC unit was assisted in this investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Department of Community Supervision. 

Savage was taken to the Stephens County Jail upon his arrest.
