Towns County Sheriff Ken Henderson is under investigation for alleged misconduct.
That’s according to an executive order from Governor Brian Kemp, who put Attorney General Chris Carr, Coweta County Sheriff Lenn Wood, and Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown on the investigative team.
The team must submit a report to Kemp within 30 days since it was signed on Friday.
The only on-record incident Henderson has had recently was driving with a suspended license in White County in February. Media reports suggest it was a physical altercation between Henderson and a Hiawassee Police Department (HPD) officer, which AccessWDUN is working to confirm.
Henderson previously interrupted a traffic stop an HPD officer was conducting back in 2022.
