The Gainesville Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating missing Sarah Nelson, 15.

Nelson was last seen on Dec. 30 around 8:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Inn & Suites on Browns Bridge Road. She walked away from her foster parent at the hotel and may have gotten into a gold Nissan car, according to a social media post.

Nelson was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt, black sweat pants and black tennis shoes at the time of her disappearance. She is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Nelson also has a black and white rose tattoo on the top of her left hand and a faint tattoo of a cross under her right eye.

Investigators believe Nelson may be in the Atlanta or metro Atlanta area. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Investigator Del Rio at 770-535-3036.
