Apalachee High parapro arrested for inappropriate relationship

By AccessWDUN staff

A paraprofessional at Apalachee High School was arrested Friday morning for having an inappropriate relationship with students at the school, the Barrow County sheriff said.

Heather Kishun, 35, of Bethlehem was taken into custody after deputies investigated a complaint that Kishun was involved in sexual relationships with several students that attended Apalachee High School, Sheriff Jud Smith said.

Smith said Kishun allegedly invited students to her home, gave them alcohol and participated in sexual acts with them. About six or seven students were present, but Smith said the investigation is continuing in case there are other victims. It is not believed the incidents happened on school grounds.

Kishun had been employed at Apalachee High School for less than a month. She was fired after school officials were learned about the incident.

Kishun was charged with aggravated child molestation, child molestation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, furnishing alcoholic beverages to persons below the legal age, and sexual assault against a person enrolled in school.

Kishun was denied bond at her first appearance, and she remains in the Barrow County Detention Center, Smith said.
