President Jimmy Carter up for a Grammy

By Joy Holmes Multimedia Journalist

Former President Jimmy Carter has been nominated for a Grammy on Sunday.

Carter has received his nomination for the Best Spoken Word Album category for his book “Faith: A Journey for All.” Carter’s book has marked the former president’s third attempt to reach the award, although he has gained nomination and titles in the past, according to the AJC.

Since leaving the White House, Carter has blended two topics he is most familiar with: politics and religion, and according to him, the two go hand in hand.

The 94-year-old Georgia native is the oldest living president; however, he remains active in his South Georgia community with his wife Rosalynn. Despite his age, Carter still teaches a Sunday school class twice a month at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia.
