BLUE RIDGE—A doctor at Union General Hospital in Blairsville faces six felony drug charges after being arrested for the second time in three months.
Dr. David Gowder faces three counts of omission of a practitioner (obtaining a prescription without having another doctor write it) and three counts of fraudulently obtaining a controlled substance.
"Those include a time span...between November 4, 2014 up through February of 2015," said Jeff Langley, Enotah District Attorney.
Dr. Gowder has since posted a $50,000 bond, which includes several conditions.
"It included that he not be allowed to practice medicine (while out on bond)," said Langley.
Gowder was also arrested in April on drug charges in Fannin County.
