A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning after a two-vehicle wreck on US Highway 441 at Hollywood Hills Road in Habersham County.

The Georgia State Patrol said Donald Miller Lewis, 70, of Mooresville, NC, was driving a 2021 BMW R 1250 GS motorcycle on Hollywood Hills Road approaching US Hwy 441 at around 10:30 a.m.

Wyatt Andrew Turner, 23, of Mount Airy, was driving a 2006 Jeep Wrangler on US Hwy 441 approaching Hollywood Hills Road.

According to the GSP, Lewis attempted to cross the north and southbound lanes of US Hwy 441 and hit the Jeep.

Lewis was unresponsive on scene and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of today’s victim, with the other driver, and with all those impacted by this tragedy,” Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire said.

Personnel from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Habersham County Emergency Services, and Georgia State Patrol inspect the motorcycle involved in Monday morning’s wreck on Ga. 15 at Hollywood Hills Road near Hollywood.
