Castillo was congratulated by his teammates in the Marlins dugout during Florida's game against Montreal when manager Jack McKeon told him he had been added to the team.
The switch-hitting second baseman has 14 stolen bases and is hitting .314 with six homers and 26 RBIs. He will make his second straight All-Star appearance.
Castillo is the third Marlins player named to the team, joining third baseman Mike Lowell and rookie left-hander Dontrelle Willis, who was added to the team Friday to replace Los Angeles right-hander Kevin Brown.
