The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) is reporting that an 18-month-old child was run over by a vehicle in the 200 block of Oakland Drive just outside of the south side of Gainesville at around 11 a.m. Sunday.
Police responded to the scene and say the child sustained fatal injuries.
Family members were at the residence, and when one of them went to move their vehicle the child was run over according to the department.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all involved in this devastating loss," GPD said in a Facebook post.
