The Gainesville City School System announced its 2025-2026 District Teacher of the Year. 

Chandler Reed, a Third Grade Teacher at Enota Multiple Intelligence Academy, was selected for the honor.

"Mrs. Reed embodies the spirit of an outstanding educator,"  Jeremy Williams, Superintendent of Gainesville City Schools, said . "Her passion for teaching is evident in every interaction, and her ability to create a dynamic learning environment is truly remarkable. She not only teaches her students academic concepts but also inspires them to be compassionate and curious individuals. We are incredibly fortunate to have her in our district." 

Reed will receive  a $10,000 award from the Melvin Douglas and Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation, which aims to recognize  quality teachers in Gainesville and Hall County. Each school’s Teacher of the Year will also receive a $500 award from the foundation

Reed is currently in here sixth year of teaching. 

"I am deeply honored to be named District Teacher of the Year,” Reed said. "I am so grateful to be part of the Gainesville City School District, where I get to work alongside incredible colleagues and the most amazing students every day. I strive to make every day an opportunity to help our students grow as champions in learning and leaders in life. This recognition encourages me to keep giving my very best to the students and community I love.” 

Reed will now represent the Gainesville City School System in the statewide Georgia Teacher of the Year competition, according to GCSS.
