A suspect was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 23, after an armed robbery and shooting in Gainesville.

Captain Kevin Holbrook with the Gainesville Police Department said police responded on Sept. 20 to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville to meet with the gunshot victim.

The 21-year-old victim did not provide information on the shooting to the police. 

Through the investigation, Tierre Jatyce Pirkle, 17, was developed as a suspect. 

Pirkle was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and armed robbery.

The shooting is not believed to be a random incident.
