COAL MOUNTAIN, Ga. — North Forsyth’s playoff chances took a blow on Wednesday as the Raiders dropped a 9-6 decision to Denmark in a crucial Region 6-6A contest at home.

The Raiders (15-11, 8-9 Region 6-6A) came into day with a chance to jump into a tie for fourth place with the Danes (15-11, 10-7 Region 6-6A) but instead now trail by two games with four left to play in the region.

The took a 5-2 lead into the sixth inning, highlighted by RBI singles from Ty Womack and Seth Dixon in the first and a solo home run to center by Aiden Kitchens in the second. Brady Holbrook had a run-scoring double in the fourth.

But Denmark exploded for seven runs in the sixth, all with two outs, highlighted by a bases-clearing double from Trey Bailey and a three-run homer from Geno Goralski.

Holbrook belted a solo home run to lead off the seventh for North Forsyth and the Raiders eventually loaded the bases with two outs. But they could complete the rally.
