One person was taken to a local hospital Tuesday afternoon after a delivery truck crashed into a home in Buford.
Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services said firefighters responded just after 4 p.m. to the home in the 5700 block of Tattersall Terrace NE, where they found the truck driver lying on the ground.
Crews rendered aid to the driver and checked the scene for other injuries. They found residents still inside the home.
“The Technical Rescue Team (TRT) assessed the damage to the home and determined that the vehicle had compromised its structural integrity,” Gwinnett fire officials said.
Shoring was applied to temporarily support the home until the damage can be assessed by building specialists.
A heavy-duty wrecker removed the truck from the home.
One person was taken to a local hospital in serious condition and there were no other injuries reported.
The cause of the accident is unknown.
