Authorities arrested a woman Thursday evening after she allegedly hit a man in the head with a hatchet in Gainesville.
Rachel Michelle Millwood, 40, allegedly struck the victim in the head with a hatchet at 7:40 p.m. behind a laundromat in the 300 block of Atlanta Highway, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived on the scene, Gainesville Police Department officers were already there and said the victim had been transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Millwood had been detained by Gainesville police at a location on Lyman Street prior to deputies arriving. She was then arrested by deputies and charged with aggravated assault.
Investigators are still unsure as to what led to the argument.
