FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Dawson County swept a pair of matches, Gainesville split, and Flowery Branch dropped two matches in a tri-match at Flowery Branch on Thursday.
Gainesville started slow, and Dawson County took advantage in a 25-22 and 27-25 win over the Lady Red Elephants. The Lady Tigers went on to beat Flowery Branch.
The Lady Red Elephants closed out the match 25-17, 25-14 win over the Lady Falcons.
Kerrigan Gruhn led Gainesville with 15 kills and 8 aces. Taylor Reid added 3 kills and 4 blocks, Makenzy Butler had 4 aces, and Hannah Stewart added 6 kills for the Lady Red Elephants. Avery Lindsey had 18 assists and Caroline Reisman had 4 aces for Gainesville as well.
Gainesville next will travel to Apalachee on Saturday to compete in the annual Queen of the Court tournament.
