BETHLEHEM — Towns County won its third straight game with a 14-11 win over Bethlehem Christian on Friday night on the road.
The win gave the Indians a 4-1 start to the season, a first since 2008. The three-game win streak is their first since 2010.
Kyle Oakes, who led Class A Public in rushing coming into the game, scored both touchdowns for Towns County, one rushing and one receiving.
The Indians defense was stellar holding the Knights (5-1) 21 points below their season average.
Towns County will face another huge road test next week traveling to Lincoln County (3-2) to open Region 8-A Public play.
