WINDER, Ga. — It was a slow start for Buford but a strong finish.
The Wolves (8-1, 5-0 Region 8-6A) defense was stingy, again, and the offense racked up almost 400 yards en route to a 38-2 win over Winder-Barrow (4-5, 2-3 Region 8-6A) at Bulldogg Stadium.
CJ Clinkscales led the Wolves with 90 yards rushing on 13 carries and a touchdown. The Wolves rushed for 252 yards as a team and passed for 140.
Buford took the early lead, 20-0, off an Alex Mata 39-yard field goal. The Bulldoggs only points came off a Buford safety, the closest they would get, 3-2.
The Wolves reeled off 35 unanswered points both through the air and on the ground.
Ashton Daniels hit KJ Bolden on a 42-yard pass to give the Wolves a 10-3 halftime lead.
In the second half, Clinkscales scored on a seven-yard run, and Christian Butler rushed in from one-yard out to go up, 24-2.
In the fourth quarter, Dylan Wittke hit paydirt on a 14-yard run, and Tyshun White snagged a Winder-Barrow pass and returned it 31 yards for the final score.
