More than 200 guests turned out Wednesday to hear Michelle Nunn, the CEO of Atlanta-based CARE USA, field questions during the WomenSource annual Motivating Women Luncheon.
Nunn, the Democratic nominee in th 2014 Georgia U.S. Senate race, was named CEO of CARE USA in 2015.
As the special guest for this year's event, Nunn answered questions from local businesswoman and moderator Dixie Truelove at the Chattahoochee Country Club in Gainesville.
Nunn spoke about her love for volunteerism and serving her community, which ultimately led her to start Hands On Atlanta while she was in her early 20s. As the current CEO of CARE USA, Nunn discussed the work CARE does to educate and empower women in more than 90 countries around the world. For Nunn, educating women and helping women gain financial independence is key for not only empowering women, but for strengthening communities economically as well.
