Fall festivals around North Georgia highlight local traditions

As the leaves begin to fall, North Georgians venture out into cooler weather for fall festivals. Here are some events in our area. If you'd like to submit an event, email news@jacobsmedia.net.


Sunday, October 14

Pumpkin Patch at The Highlands Church
October 14-31 
3678 Cleveland Highway in Gainesville
The church will sell pumpkins to raise money for missions. Pumpkin Patch hours are Monday through Friday 4-8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday noon-6 p.m. In addition, the church will have fall festival activities on Saturday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 27. All events on those days are free to the public.               


Friday, October 26

Mountain Moonshine Festival
Downtown Dawsonville
The Mountain Moonshine Festival is a three-day event that features the Moonshine Run, a Saturday-morning parade featuring authentic moonshine and race cars, a car show, arts, crafts, food and live entertainment.

Saturday, October 27

Trick or Treat on the Trail
Midtown Greenway - Gainesville
3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
More than 100,000 pieces of candy on the trail! Plus a petting zoo, bounce houses games, face painting and more. WDUN's Bill Maine will be there, too! Participation is free but a canned good donation for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank is encouraged.
