CLEVELAND - The National Weather Service has released information concerning the winter weather that is expected to impact North Georgia Friday evening and during the day Saturday. White County Emergency Management Agency Director David Murphy said Thursday afternoon that the weather service has advised this could be a significant ice event.<br />

The weather service is predicting between 2-3PM Friday we could start seeing rain/sleet/snow mixture with no accumulations expected due to the temperature. After dark, between 7-9PM, accumulations will begin as sleet and freezing rain. We could see ice accumulations of ¾â
Three new members of the White County Commission and one returning Commissioner will take their oaths of office Wednesday at the White County Courthouse at 10:00.
White County's land use plan is scheduled to take effect Wednesday. The county commission took a second reading vote on different aspects of the regulation Monday.
There is some activity on the proposed site of the Chick-fil-A restaurant in Cleveland, but company officials are not providing information about the new facility.
Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a traffic shift on State Route 115 at Tesnatee Valley Gap Road west of Cleveland on Tuesday, if weather permits.
