As thousands were on hand, and millions watched the vigil for slain activist and talk show host Charlie Kirk, thousands gathered around the state of Georgia at local parks and events to pay their respects and reflect on the life of slain Turning Point USA's co-founder and CEO.

Many gathered in the city of Cleveland Sunday evening at Freedom Park for such a vigil.  A former employee for Kirk's Turning Point USA, Aaron Rainwater, was among those who spoke about Kirk's legacy to the country and to followers of Christ, reminding all in attendance to never forget what he sought for all Americans.

"Commit yourself to the mission he (Kirk) lived for and that he died for. Speak the truth courageously, always.  Do good, be faithful, and take your responsibility as an American as seriously as he (Kirk) did," Rainwater said.

He would go on to add a personal pledge to the deceased Kirk, saying, "Charlie, we're following you, brother. You showed us what it meant to love your country, fiercely and fearlessly." Rainwater then urged the attendees to never let society forget the name of Charlie Kirk.

More than 120 people were in attendance for the 6:00 p.m. vigil Sunday evening.
