The Hall County Fire Marshall’s Office arrested a suspect for charges related to arson following an investigation into a fire that destroyed a home near Flowery Branch in August.

Hall County Fire Rescue reportedly responded to the fire on the 6200 block of Saddlehorse Drive just after 4 a.m. on Aug. 29 to find the single-story home fully involved in flames.  At the time, fire officials reported that residents were not home and a search of the structure was “all clear.”  The home was declared a total loss.

On Monday, officials said in a release that investigators determined the cause to be incendiary or intentionally set. The Fire Marshal's Office arrested Jamie Renee Millsap, 54, of Flowery Branch on Sept.19.

Millsap was charged with arson in the 1st degree, fraudulent insurance claims and reckless conduct.
